Needs Assessment and  Sustainable Service Delivery Plan for Volunteerism in District 69

During the period September 2006 to May 2007, the O.V.A. undertook a research initiative in partnership with Service Canada.  The project included:

  • Developing and implementing a needs assessment to determine the extent of volunteer organizations and services in Oceanside.

  • Planning and hosting a volunteer fair in the spring of 2007.

As part of the Needs Assessment, the Oceanside Volunteer Association  conducted a series of three surveys to answer the following questions:

  1. How many people are participating in volunteer programs? (The "Man on the Street Survey" )

  2. Do volunteer organizations in the Oceanside area have sufficient volunteer support for their programs? (The "Volunteer Organization Survey" )

  3. Have volunteers found their experiences to be happy, meaningful and rewarding?  (The "Volunteer Satisfaction Survey")

The results of this research project  are contained in the project report.
