Do You Want to Volunteer?

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Here's information on how to use our resources.

The Oceanside Volunteer Association maintains a data base of current volunteer opportunities for potential volunteers to review.  You can view a complete list of the current opportunities right here on this website, or you are welcome to come in to our office located at Middleton and McCarter in Parksville.

In order for us to refer you to a volunteer opportunity, we will need for you to complete an application form. You can download this form by clicking here. Please email, mail or bring this completed application form to our office.

Many organizations require their volunteers to have a current Criminal Record Check, we can provide you with the necessary form to get a special volunteer criminal record check from the RCMP.  The RCMP will complete this record check free of charge. It takes only a few days.

When the paperwork is complete, we would love the opportunity to talk to you about volunteering, to help you find the most rewarding volunteer position. Some people want to find a way to "give back" to the community. Others are looking for job experience. Others want to do something they have always wanted to do, and associate with people with common interests and concerns. After we have met with you, we will be better able to point you in the right direction.

O.V.A. staff completes a referral form which is given to you, so that you can then get in touch with the organization with the volunteer position that interests you.

Completing the application process also entitles you to be a member of the Oceanside Volunteer Association - for life. The cost is only $1.00. Being a member gives you other benefits. Please see Becoming a Member and Programs and Services.

Thank you so much! We look forward to having you visit our office.
